2008 Catholic High Schools Athletic Association (CHSAA) DIOCESE OF BROOKLYN Division A Varsity Baseball. Archbishop Molloy vs. Xaverian -April 16, 2008 -The American Legion, home of the Youth Service League (YSL)
Six-five
Matt Troisi (#6) Grand-Slammed Molly Drove 8 RBI
With no out in the bottom of the first,
Anthony Ajjar (#22) walked to load the bases, after an
eighteen-pitch-at-bat. Then,
Matt Troisi (#6) drilled his ninth pitch to deep right
center field for a grand slam home run.
Troisi failed to complete
the cycle, as he went four for four, with two doubles, as he
drove eight runs in for the
Xaverian High School Clippers.
It was not a good day for the Stanners of
Archbishop Molloy High School,
according to Head Coach
Jack Curran, as his team suffered 17 -2 crushing loss. But,
it’s still early in the season and Mr. Curran is expecting his
team to perform the way it should perform.
Alex Maldonado (51) had two singles and stole five bases, as
he scored three runs at the top of the lineup in this
CHSAA Brooklyn A Division baseball game.
Justin Giammmarino (#46) went the distance of five innings
to hold the Stanner to only two runs, as he stroke out seven of
the batters from Queens. Clipper head
Coach Denis Canale compliments Giammmarino on the outing,
but he feels that the young lefty was in better control in his
one-nothing-loss to Mc Clancy at Keyspan Park.
