The eleven year
olds of Saint Saviour and Saint Vincent Ferrer put up a
great show of ability on the basketball court of Saint
Vincent Ferrer in this
Brooklyn
Children Baseball and Basketball Association
(BCBA). As a matter of fact, the two
teams competed in the most exciting game of the day. Matthew
Green (#32) and Issak Bodon (#55) each scored 8 points for
Saint Saviour.
The eleven year olds of Saint Saviour
dominated their eleven year old competitors from Saint
Anselm. Saint Anselm could not match the opposed defense and
the offence of Tyler Paull (#1), Christopher Herman (#10)
and Jack Cleary (#4) who scored well to over match the
14-point-valliant-effort of Ryan Muccigrosso of Saint
Anselm.
In the night cap, the 13 year olds of
Saint Vincent Ferrer played a slow game in the first
quarter, as Saint Savior kept pace with Saint Vincent to end
the first quarter at a deficit of 6 to 13 on the score
board. However, from the start of the second quarter, Saint
Vincent set a pace that the boys of Saint Saviour could not
match, as they got routed 73 to 26. Sean Taylor(#24) of
Saint Saviour, who would like to attend Bishop Ford High
School, scored well in the disappointing loss, but
six-feet-one-inch-tall Myles Marshall (#1), who will attend
Nazareth High School this fall, fair better.
I did not get a chance to interview the
11 year olds of St Vincent. I hope to do so, next time we
meet.
