MARINE PARK- Brooklyn- #87,
Freshman
Team Captain, Gino Giglio of
Xavier High School got hurt during the last play of the game to assure Xavier's win
over the Cougars of
St. John the Baptist in this most exiting
Catholic High Schools
Athletic Association Football League freshman football game at
Marine Park.
With tears running down his cheeks,
Gino was quick to reassure AMAMAT that the tears were
that of joy and pride that his team had won and not tears of
pain, due to the ankle injury he sustained during the last
play.
On 4th down and seconds left in the last quarter,
the Cougars pushed toward the right side of the Knights
end-zone to no avail, as the captain fall down and handled
the victory to his Knights.
Assistant Head Coach,
Troy Bady, who was the spokesman for Head Coach Steve
Kelly, was impressed with the victory and give credits to
all the member of the team, particularly to
#5 Matt Cilmi, #8 Brent Scardapane, #17 Gabriel Spooner, #47
Erik Nicholes.
Matt Cilmi scored the only touchdown for the Knights,
however, he humbly gave credits to his offensive line.
