10.24.09 Kellenberg vs. Xaverian - The Clippers of Xaverian defeated Kellenberg in their last home game as a Catholic High Schools Athletic Association freshman football team, as #1, Kai Bryant scored 2 TDs, #18, Chris Matthews and #32, Julian Ruiz , each scored one TD for the Clippers. #15, Dean Bantis recovered a fumble in the last few minutes of Kellenberg's possession of the football. Quarterback, #5, Greg McGoldrick scored a TD, as #48, Andrew Mottla provided great blocks.
Head Coach Massimo Penta was satisfied that his team finished with a win in its last game at home as a freshmen. Next week, the Clippers are away to face the 4 and 1 Chamenade on Long Island.
Kellenberg's #35, Rory Walsh was difficult to be handled by the Clippers. Quarterback,#12, Anthony Napolitano threw bullets to make connections with #19, Joe Crowley for TDs as well as with #82, Nick Rizzio who ran for 65 yards for a TD. But, Head Coach Edward Solosky's team fall to the Clippers 26-20. His team will be at home to face the winless Holy Trinity.
