Clippers, Mike Pappalardi #11 and
Michael Marando (#7), of the Xaverian High School scored in
the early first half of the Catholic High Schools Athletic
Association Soccer League Division "A” Varsity soccer match,
at the Verrazano Complex. However, the Knights of Xavier
High School shut the
X-Men in the second half.
In fact, the Knights dominated the second half of the
competition, but were not able to score, despite several
attempts at scoring.
During the second half, both teams
played with 10 players, as the missing young athletes were
ejected due to physical exchanges, which seemed to have
motivated the Knights, but left the Clippers at a huge
disadvantage.
Head Coach, Carlos Jaguando, along with
his assistant coach, Angelo Badias, witnessed the
improvement in the Clippers efforts, as the X-Men seem to
communicate more than the last time
www.amamat.com webcasted
their soccer game against Archbishop Stepinac on September
18, 2008, at the same sports complex.
Although the Knights played with a lot
of emotions, in the second half, they seemed to play a more
aggressive, organized soccer game, as they pass the ball
better than the mediocre way they play their first half.
